iCare pH sensor and calibration kit for pH sensor bundle

I bought an iCare and was pretty happy at first. Similar to Greg's review, when the time came to calibrate the unit, the process would fail repeatedly. I wasted money of numerous calibration kits trying to get it to work without success.

I was sent a new pH probe, assuming that fixed the problem but didn't calibrate it when I received it because I assumed it came ready to go. I used it for some time but never got pH readings that aligned with the strips. Now I know why, it wasn't in calibration.

After a year passed, I tried calibrating the replacement probe and had the same issue. I reached out to the folks at IdealWaterCare and they advised that if the pH probe isn't calibrated often enough, it can get so far out of calibration that it won't take a calibration. They advised I buy a new probe and calibration kit to resolve the issue, which I did.

I installed the new probe and followed all the instructions for calibration and the issue continued. I called again and was instructed to open a ticket with the manufacturer, which I did. I went through some additional troubleshooting with them, at which point they confirmed that the "core" was bad and that this was now out of warranty.

I emailed them back (they only communicate via email) to explain that this issue was first identified during the warranty period but was never resolved correctly, and therefore the core replacement should be under warranty and they refuse to reply to my emails now.

It's sad that they don't stand behind their product because when it works, it really is great. I think they know these things have a problem and they're trying to cut their losses. I have spent over $800 between the unit, calibration kids, probes and hours of wasted time.

Sadly, I can't recommend it the iCare, and if you are having pH calibration issues, you should know buying this product will probably be a waste of money.

When I first bought this iCare I was very satisfied. But then my pH probe stopped working. I contacted customer support and they sent out a new unit. Since then the pH has still not read correctly and I haven't been able to calibrate it. I ordered this new probe, but it is still reading incorrectly. I haven't been able to get this to work since it failed a year ago.
