iCare Calibration kit for pH and ORP bundle

I tried the recommended probe recalibration using this kit ($80+ CAD - which is ridiculous considering what it is) in May 2024 and had nothing but issues. I tried using the in-app chat bot - no help, it just circled my issue. I tried booking a support call through the website - frustrating as the call times are only available in the “Morning”… like 1, 2, 3 AM (?). I tried submitting a few service tickets and finally was able to have someone determine that my PH probe was defective (by using mineral water test - not sure why that isn't the first step when recalibrating…). Since it was my first time recalibrating the probes, they sent a replacement probe and this kit for free, which was nice, but in the end it took 4 months to get it (not to mention my multiple emails, and many stressful back and forth, trying to confirm where the shipment was). The entire customer value stream is terrible. I would not recommend - if I had to purchase all over again, I wouldn’t do it. If you are looking at ICO unit or this product believing that it could make for a stress-free and convenient hot tub maintenance experience, you may be in for a surprise as the stress just shifts to pleading with this company to help you when you need it. Just use the good old test strips. It’s cheaper, no calibrating expensive probes twice a year and less interpersonal stress. And hey, if you are unsure or struggling with your water, you may have an accessible hot tub retailer close by to help you troubleshoot (they do that and are usually incredibly helpful). Good luck to you… and if you are struggling with this same issue, take a deep breath and return your unit for a refund if it’s not too late - you’ll be okay - I believe in you!
